As
per Banking Policy Department’s Circular Letter
No.45 of 2005, State Bank has relaxed the necessary /
basic condition for opening the bank account in the earthquake
affected areas i.e. CNIC or any other identification document
in order to facilitate the disbursement of compensation
to the earthquake affectees, Instead, the identification
and verification of the affectees was made acceptable
from even Patwari, Postman, any Government official, member
Union Council, MPA/MNA or any other elected representative
of the area. Accounts of minors left without any guardian,
were also allowed to be opened on the verification by
the Relief Commissioner only.
