2 In this connection it is clarified that banks/DFIs should not pass on the cost of verification of CNIC from NADRA data base to their account holder(s) (either existing or prospective). The verification of CNIC is not a direct service to the bank / DFI customers rather it is an effort to mitigate financial institution’s own risk.

3 The above clarification may please be circulated down the line to all your offices to ensure compliance. Any contravention or circumvention of instruction shall attract penal provision under the relevant laws / regulations
