PRUDENTIAL
REGULATION M-1- OBTAINING COMPUTERIZED
NATIONAL IDENTITY CARD (CNIC) FROM ALL THE BANK CLIENTS
Please
refer to BPD Circular letter No. 18 dated 2nd June, 2005
on the above subject.

We have received representations from Pakistan Banks Association
(PBA), wherein they have indicated various difficulties
in meeting the deadline of 30th November, 2005 for complying
with the instructions issued vide the above referred circular
letter by their member banks. The matter has been considered
and it has been decided to extend the deadline upto 30th
June, 2006.All the banks/DFIs are, therefore, advised to
confirm compliance with the instructions issued vide BPD
Circular No. 18 of 2005 by the extended time limit.

All other instructions on the subject shall, however, remain
unchanged.
