L.G. ELECTIONS, 2005-BANK HOLIDAY ON POLLING DAY

Please refer to BPD Circular Letter No.30 dated the 18th August, 2005 on the above subject.

In this regard, the Federal Government has clarified that its offices will not be closed for Local Government Elections on 25th August, 2005. However, Federal Government employees are free to cast their votes during polling hours.

In line with the decision of the Federal Government, it is advised that the instructions contained in para 2 of aforesaid Circular Letter stand cancelled and all offices/branches of banks/DFIs shall remain open for business transactions on 25th August, 2005. However, all bank employees are free to cast their votes for Local Government Elections on 25th August, 2005 during the polling hours.
