Dear Sirs/Madam,

L.G. ELECTIONS, 2005-BANK HOLIDAY ON POLLING DAY

This is to advise that the State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed for transactions on Thursday the 18th August, 2005 declared as bank holiday on occasion of the 1st Phase of the Local Government Elections, 2005. The counters of all banks/DFIs shall, therefore, remain closed for business/transactions on the above date.

Further, Thursday the 25th August, 2005 has also been declared as bank holiday only in those districts where the 2nd phase of Local Government Elections, 2005 will be held. All the banks/DFIs are, therefore, advised to keep their counters closed for transactions in the branches/offices in those districts where 2nd phase of Local Government Elections will be held (a list containing names of such districts is enclosed for ready reference).
