Dear Sir/ Madam,

KNOW YOUR CUSTOMER (PRUDENTIAL REGULATION M-1)-
BANKING FACILITIES TO NICOP/POC HOLDERS

Please refer to Prudential Regulation No. M-1 notified vide BPD Circular No.10 dated March 29, 2003 and other instructions issued from time to time, on the above subject.

2. It has been decided that the banks/DFIs may accept attested copy of National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistani (NICOP) and Pakistan Origin Card (POC) issued by National Database Registration Authority from their holders for opening bank accounts in Pakistan both in local and foreign currency in lieu of Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) as mentioned at Sr. No.1 (1) of the annexure to the above Prudential Regulations.

3. All other instructions on the subject shall remain enforced / unchanged.
