Dear Sirs/Madam,

CLARIFICATION- VALIDITY OF OLD NATIONAL IDENTITY CARDS FOR BANKING BUSINESS

Please refer to BPD Circular No.10 dated March 29, 2003.

In this regard it may be recalled that the old National ID Cards have been declared invalid by the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) with effect from 31st January 2004.

In order to facilitate the clients/customers' of banks it has been decided that in cases where the depositors / borrowers have not yet obtained CNIC for opening of accounts / extension of financing the banks may obtain attested copies of old NIC and receipt of NADRA (evidencing that client has applied for CNIC) alongwith an undertaking in writing that a copy of CNIC will be submitted immediately on receipt.

All other terms & conditions on the subject shall remain unchanged.
