2002 forwarding therewith category-wise list of scheduled
Banks and NBFIs being regulated by State Bank of Pakistan.
Since the issuance of the said circular, a number of
changes have taken place in the financial sector e.g. the
regulatory responsibilities of NBFIs (except joint ventures
and PICIC) have been shifted to the Securities & Exchange
Commission of Pakistan; merger of banks as well as the change
in ownership and name of banks. In view of these developments,
the list of financial institutions regulated by the SBP has
been updated and the BPD Circular Letter No. 06 dated 30th
May 2002 is being substituted with the instant Circular Letter.
Accordingly,
an updated list of aforesaid institutions is attached herewith
for information and necessary action at your end.
