PROCEDURE
FOR SUBMITTING CLAIMS WITH SBP IN RESPECT
OF UNCLAIMED DEPOSITS SURRENDERED BY BANKS/DFIS.
In terms of provisions contained in section 31 of BCO, 1962 all
accounts payable by banks/DFIs not operated upon for 10 years or
more (excluding in the name of minor or Government) are reckoned
unclaimed deposits such deposits are required to be reported in
Form XI at the end of year under Rule 17 of Banking Companies Rules
1963. The amount so reported is surrendered to the State Bank. In
case the amount is lying with State Bank, same may be claimed by
Banks / DFIs when they receive a request from the claimant by submitting
following documents:-

2. Certificate as enclosed with letter No. BPD (PU-08)/317 (Policy)
/ 15942 / 2003 dated 18th December, 2003. (To be signed by the concerned
branch manager and the designated official at head office) –
specimen is attached.
3. Copy of relevant page of record furnished to SBP
CLAIMS
FOR RS.50,000/- AND MORE
1.
Original Application of the customer/claimant
2. Certificate as enclosed with letter No. BPD (PU-08)/317 (Policy)
/ 15942 / 2003 dated 18th December, 2003. (To be signed by the concerned
branch manager and the designated official at head office) –
specimen is attached
3. Present Address of the customer/claimant
4. Signature/ thumb impression of the customer/claimant duly verified
by the concerned branch manager with name and stamp
5. Copy of NIC of customer/claimant
6. Copy of relevant page of record furnished to SBP
7. Copy of Account Opening Form
8. Copy of Specimen Signature Form
9. Copy of heirship in case of deceased customer
10. All photo copies of document must be legible and attested by
the concerned branch manager clearly showing his name & designation.
