Note:--Intra-Provincial
remittances, at par will be made ‘Government Drafts,
all remittances at a premium will be
made
by Bank Drafts, and will be accounted for in the same manner
as remittances on behalf of C-operative
Banks and Societies.
(2)
(a) Government Drafts will be issued at par for transfers
between Intra-Provincial places where the Treasury business
is conducted by the State Bank or its agencies. For Extra-
Provincial transfers in the cases referred to in paragraph
4 of Appendix 8 of the Federal Government Compilation of the
Treasury Rules, Vol. II, with the exception of remittances
on behalf of Co-operative Banks and Societies, the rates of
exchange set forth in paragraph 1E(1) (c) will be charged
for the issue of such drafts.
(b)
Two forms of Government Drafts will, therefore, be issued:
- State
Bank of Pakistan Government Drafts to be drawn by and on Treasuries
where the State Bank is represented
by Treasury Agencies [vide para IE(a) to (d)],
And
Drafts to be drawn on its own offices and on branches of the
National Bank of Pakistan [vide 1E(2) (a) ].
- National
Bank of Pakistan Government Drafts to be drawn on its own
offices and branches [vide 1E(2) (a)].
Note:--
State Bank and National Bank Government Drafts are marked
in the right hand top "Intra-Provincial"

(c)
Remittances at a premium in such cases as Provincial Government
may direct, will be made by means of Bank Drafts-- vide
paragraph 1A(1) and(2) above.

The following drawings will be effected at the rates shown
in the relative appendices, the limits to drawings in each
case being shown in Appendix V and the accounting procedure
to be followed in respect of drawings by and in the National
Bank of Pakistan, Treasury Agencies and the offices of the
State Bank of Pakistan being shown in Appendices VI, VII and
VIII respectively. The procedure regulating the issue and
payment of Telegraphic Transfers and Drafts are incorporated
in the Treasury Rules framed by the Federal and Provincial
Governments.
The
State Bank of Pakistan, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta,
Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Hyderabad and Multan will
effect the undernoted drawings on :--
