The Expo 2006 Investment Conference was jointly organized by the State Bank of Pakistan and Export Promotion Bureau, and was held at the Karachi Sheraton Hotel on March 31, 2006 - the 3rd day of the mega-event “Expo Pakistan” organized by the Export Promotion Bureau. The objective of the Investment Conference was to highlight the potential of Pakistani exports and the opportunities that Pakistan offers to foreign buyers and investors. It was attended by a large number of foreign delegates, participants from the local private sector and officials from the banking community.

The Keynote Address of the Conference was presented by Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, Governor State Bank of Pakistan, and the panel discussion was chaired by the Federal Minister for Commerce, Mr. Humayun Akhtar.
