IMPORT OF RAW & REFINED SUGAR

Attention of the Authorized Dealers is invited to the decision of ECC meeting in terms of which import of raw and refined sugar has been allowed provided L/Cs for the said import are established within 15 days.

2. In this regard, Authorized Dealers are advised to provide weekly information regarding import of sugar on the following format:

3. Above information be faxed to Exchange Policy Department, State Bank of Pakistan at Fax No.021-9212527 or through e-mail samar.husnain@sbp.org.pk positively by 3:00 P.M on each Monday for the preceding week ending on Saturday. It may further be noted that the first report to be submitted on Monday 14, 2005 should include data pertaining to all transactions of import of Raw Sugar previously allowed by SBP under government approved quota as well as those opened under the free import policy allowed on 8th February, 2005. Please note that information should also be provided in case of NIL statement. The time lines mentioned above are required to be adhered to strictly.
