6% RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT
TO THE GARMENTS INDUSTRY

Attention of Authorized Dealers is invited to FE Circular # 06 dated June 18, 2005 on the above subject.
In this regard it is advised that in terms of Ministry of Commerce’s SRO No. 919 (I)/2005 dated September 9, 2005, the said facility has also been extended to the export of textile garments to Canada. Copy of the said SRO is enclosed for ready reference. Please note that the permission is subject to the terms and conditions mentioned in the Ministry of Commerce’s SRO No. 437 (I)/2005 dated May 18, 2005, as amended vide Ministry of Commerce’s SRO No. 611 (I)/2005 dated June 15, 2005. The said support is applicable to the shipments made on or after 12th April, 2005. The list of eligible items is as given under Chapter 61 and 62 of the Pakistan Customs Tariff.
In order to facilitate the exporters to submit their claims of exports to Canada, made between 12th April, 2005 and the issuance of this Circular (both dates inclusive), it has been decided that such cases will be submitted by the Authorized Dealers on or before November 30, 2005. However, in such cases requirement of Custom’s endorsement with specific reference of R&D Support will not be applicable.

Authorized Dealers are advised to bring the above to the notice of their constituents.
