We understand from Ambassador of Pakistan in Kuwait that the Pakistani nationals who were forced to return from Kuwait as a result of Gulf Crisis can now claim their deposits held in their accounts maintained with the banks in Kuwait. Such claims can be sent to the banks in Kuwait through the bank in Pakistan, Withdrawals can be through the cheques drawn on the banks in Kuwait which will be accepted by the Authorised Dealers in Pakistan on collection basis. The claims with the banks in Kuwait can also be lodged through letters (As per Annexure 'A') if the concerned banks in Kuwait are prepared to make payments on the basis thereof. The amounts received from the banks in Kuwait should be transferred to Pakistan and the proceeds thereof paid to the concerned claimants in Pakistan rupees or credited to their foreign currency accounts if they so desire. You are advised to please extend every possible co-operation/service to the public in collecting their funds from Kuwait.
